스티비 레이 본(Stevie Ray Vaughan)은 블루스가 진하게 묻어나는 연주와 노래는 1982년 이 앨범의 무대가 되는 스위스 몽뜨뢰에서 본격적인 라이브 연주를 하다가 데뷔작 Texas Flood(83) 와 두 번째 앨범 Couldn't Stand the weather(84), 85년 세 번째 앨범인 Soul To Soul이 크게 히트한다. BLUES의 침체기인 80년대에 블루스 리바이벌 붐을 일으키는데 선구적인 역할을 한 그는 알버트 킹 등의 정통 블루스 , 지미핸드릭슨의 락스타일과 째즈스타일등 장르의 구분 없이 모든 사운드를를 받아들여 그들과는 또 다른 자신의 음악을 구축한 인물이다.
80년대 후반까지 그래미 상을 4개부문 수상하기도 하여 음악성과 대중성을 모두 획득하였으나 90년 공연을 마치고 돌아가던 중 헬리콥터 추락사고로 사망하였지만, 블루스 기타 역사상 몇 안 되는 명연주 중의 미국의 블루와 락 양대 음악에 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다고 평가되고 있다. 아직도 많은 록, 블루스 애호가들에게 굴지의 기타리스트로 추앙받고 있다.
