보니 타일러(Bonnie Tyler)는 1953년 영국 연방인 웨일즈 태어나 1970년대 후반부터 1980년대 중반까지 많은 인기를 얻은 가수이며 파워풀한 호소력 짙은 허스키 보이스를 자랑하는 보니 타일러는 70년대 텔런트 콘테스트에 입상하면서 연예활동을 시작하다가 76년 목 수술로 지금의 허스키한 음색을 갖게 되어 가수로서 더 큰 인기를 얻은 특이한 경력의 여성 보컬리스트이다. 영화 "Footloose"의 주제곡인 "Holding Out For a Hero"는 84년도의 마이클 잭슨의 (Thriller)를 빌보드 앨범 차트 37주간 1위라는 대기록 달성에 마침표를 찍게 하는 쾌거를 울렸다. 보니 타일러는 7살 때부터 로컬 클럽에서 노래를 부른 선천적인 재능의 소유자로 컨트리나 포크에 가까운 노래를 하고 당대 제작자였뎐 짐 스타인맨을 만나 웅장한 사운드에 가창력을 접목시킨  'It's A Heartache'로 UK 차트 3위, US 차트 밀리언 셀러를 기록했다.
