저니(Journey)는 1973년 샌프랜시스코에서 결성된 미국 록 밴드로서 지금도 활동하는 5인조 밴드이지만. 저니에 몸담았던 뮤지션이 무려 19명이나 될 만큼 멤버들의 변동이 심하다. 원년 멤버는 리드기타의 '닐 션'(Neal Schon)과 베이스의 '로스 밸로리'(Ross Valory) 두 명 뿐이다. Journey를 대표하는 리드 싱어는 '스티브 페리'(Steve Perry)이다. 저니의 황금기라 할 수 있는 1978년에서 1987년, 그리고 1995년에서 1998년에 멤버로 활동하면서 저니의 특징이라 할 수 있는 음역이 넓고 고음의 파워 발라드곡들을 잇달아 히트시켰다. 이 시대 최고의 남성 보컬리스트를 가리는 갖가지 여론조사에서 항상 10위권 내에 들 만큼 뛰어난 보컬리스트로 존 본 조비는 그를 "The Voice"라고 불렀고 Queen의 멤버 '브라이언 메이'는 2007년 한 인터뷰에서 "백만 불짜리 목소리를 가진 진정 빛나는 싱어(Perry is a truly luminous singer, in my opinion, a voice in a million.)"라고 평가했다.
