블루스 언더그라운드 (Blues Underground)는  미국 LA 출신의 5인조 블루스 그룹으로 남부 캘리포니아를 무대로 활동하고 있다.이들은 델타 블루스, 멤피스 소울 등 유명한 클래식 블루스를 리메이크 해왔으며 이 곡은 루이스 암스트롱이 처음 녹음한 곡이며, 18세기 작자 미상인 영국의 포크송 'The Unfortunate Rake' 를 변형시킨 곡이며 이들의 95년 데뷔앨범에 수록된 곡이다. 아칸사스 출신인 Roy Jones의 보컬은 클래식 블루스에 감각적이며 슬픈 소울풍한 목소리는 가슴을 저민다.사랑하는 여인을 하늘나라로 떠나 보낸후 아프고 슬픈 마음을 신께 다시 돌려 보내달라고, 절대로 떠나보낼 수 없다고 애원하고 흐느끼는 남자의 애절한 심정을 담긴 내용이다.
