악셀 루디 펠(Axel Rudi Pell)은 독일 출신 멜로디 메탈 그룹으로  마이클 쉥커, 울리 존 로스 더불어 독일이 낳은 세계적인 기타리스트 중 한 명이다. 잉베이 맘스틴(ngwie Malmsteen),크리스 임펠리테리(Chris Impellitteri)와 함께 1984년 "Steeler" 를 조직, 1991년 Nasty Reputation앨범으로 데뷰, 바로크 메탈이 몰락한 현재까지도 잉베이 신화를 이어나가는 바로크의 선율 속에서 살고 있다. 그는 클래시컬 기타의 지존 리치 블랙모어(Ritchie Blackmore)의영향을 절대적으로 받았다. 대위법 요소가 가득한 4연음 위주의 플레이, 음의 정확성을 요하는 스타카토 주법 등이 대표적이다. 딥 퍼플(Deep Purple)과 레인보우(Rainbow)에서 구현했던 리치 블랙모어의 패턴 그대로다. 하지만 악셀 루디 펠은 모방을 거부했다. 그는 북구의 스피드 멜로딕 메탈을 가미시켜 매우 드라마틱하고 신비스런 사운드로 탈바꿈시겨 자신만의 스타일을 확립시킨 것이다.
