로버트 플랜트(Robert Plant)는 1948년 영국 출생으로  그는 1969년 락의 전설적인 그룹 '레드 제플린' 리드보컬로 데뷔해서 리드 보컬리스트로서 고음역의 폭발하는 가창력을 자랑했다.  레드제플린의 존 본햄(John Bonham, 드럼), 로버트 플랜트(Robert Plant, 보컬), 지미 페이지(Jimmy Page, 기타), 존 폴 존스(John Paul Jones, 베이스) 수많은 노래를 발표하면서 많은 인기와 여러 상을 받았으나 드럼을 치던 존 본햄 사망으로 자연 해체된 후에 1982년 솔로로 데뷔하고, 명성을 이어 2007년 미국의 전설의 여성 컨트리 가수인 앨리슨 크라우스를 만나 듀오를 결성해 전설인 로버트 플랜트와 전설인 앨리슨 크라우스의 만남만으로 굉장한 화제를 뿌렸다.  듀엣앨범인 'Raising Sand'는 2008년 그래미에서 1개 부문, 2009년 그래미에서 5개 부문을 수상해서 총 6관왕을 수상하고 최근에는 CBE 훈장은 물론 그래미 어워드 5관왕에 올라 최다수상을 하기도 했다. 부활의 김태원이 가장 존경하는 레드 제플린의 로버트 플랜트이라고 한다.
