레이 파커 주니어 (Ray Parker Jr.)는 1954년 미국 미시간(Michigan)주, 디트로이트(Detroit) 출생으로 가수, 작곡가이자 기타리스트이기도 한 그는 1984년 6월 미국에서 개봉한 영화 '고스트버스트즈 주제가를 불러 히트를 시켜 전 세계적으로 유명해졌다. 1972년에는 스티비 원더의  'Talking Book'과 1973년 음반 'Innervisions'에서 기타 연주를 담당하기도 했다. 영화 '고스트버스트즈'는 뉴욕에 출몰하는 유령들을 잡기 위해 4명의 젊은이가 귀신잡는 대행회사 고스터버스터즈 를 설립하여 유령을 소탕한다는 내용의 SF 코미디 영화에 등장하는 나름대로 귀여운 구석이 있는 유령 먹깨비와 찐빵 귀신을 떠올리게 하는 신나는 이 곡 'Ghostbusters' 많은 사랑을 받았다.
