토니 조 화이트(Tony Joe White)는 1943년 미국 루이지애나 출신의 싱어송라이터, 프랑스에선 "Swamp Fox" 란 닉네임으로 잘 알려진 블루 아이드 소울에서 빼 놓을 수 없는 뮤지션이다. 통상적으로 소울은 흑인들의 것이라 여겼던 적이 있었지만 라이처스 브라더스 듀오를 기점으로 백인들의 화이트 소울,즉 블루 아이드 소울이 번성하게 되었다. 토니 조 화이트는 유럽에 블루 아이드 소울의 기반을 구축하여 유럽 팬들의 열렬한 사랑을 독차지 했을 뿐만 아니라 블루지한 그의 음색과 40년이란 세월을 장수할 수 있었던 그의 창법은 소울에 있어서는 가히 타의 추종을 불허할 만하다.  개인적 (복지)도 토니 조 화이트 노래를 참으로 좋아하고 즐겨듣는다.
