블론디는 1974년 결성되어 1983년 해체될때까지 Deborah Harry(데보라 해리)를 중심으로 한 6인조 혼성 록 밴드이다. 여섯장의 정규 앨범을 낸 이들은 Call me, Rapture, Heart Of Glass,The tide is high 등 모두 네 곡의 빌보드 싱글 차트 1위곡을 남기며 70년대 후반과 80년대 초반까지 커다란 인기를 누렸다. 80년대 섹스심블 묘한 매력을 풍기는 금발의 여성 데보라 해리를 주축으로 80년 영화 "American Gigolo"에 삽입되었던 곡으로 그해의 최우수 팝송으로 선정되어 빌보드 챠트 6주 연속 1위에 선정되었던 곡이다. 그런데 해체된지 25년이 지난 지금, 영화 '친구'의 롤러스케이트장 씬에 쓰이며 70/80 세대의 향수를 자극했던 곡, 바로 그 노래 Call Me로 유명한 블론디가 다시 뜨면서 CF의 위력을 실감케 하고 있다. 팝과 록의 역사에 있어서 음악적으로도 중요한 위치를 점하고 있다.
