스모키(Smokie)는 1970년대 후반에 발전적인 형태의 사이키델릭 팝으로 영국 차트를 여러 차례 강타하였다.  유럽과 아시아 일대의 30여개 공연하게 되면서, 이전에 발표한 곡들까지 히트되는 기현상을 낳기도 했다고 한다. 허스키한 보이스로 호소력 짙은 매력을 발산하고 있는 1970~80년대에 우리나라에서 비틀즈를 능가하는 인기를 누렸던 그룹 스모키(Smokie)는 보컬인 크리스 노만(Chris Norman)의 허스키하고 호소력이 넘치는 목소리와 이를 정교하게 받치는 모든 멤버의 완벽한 백 보컬 하모니로 우리나라 팝 역사상에 LP판으로 최초로 100만장 이상의 판매고를 올린 그룹으로 올드 팝팬들에게 지금까지 아련한 향수로 남아 있는 그룹이다. 유럽에서와 자국에서의 인기의 여부와 상관없이 구미를 당기게 만드는 담백한 사운드를 구사한 몇 안되는 그룹중의 그룹이다.
