토니 브랙스톤(Toni Braxton)은 68년생으로 미국 매릴랜드(Maryland) 출신으로 본명은 Toni Michelle Braxton으로 어린시절 교회 성가대 활동부터 시작했으며 퀸시 존스(Quincy Jones), 차카 칸(Chaka Khan), 휘트니 휴스턴(Whitney Houston), 스티비 원더(Stevie Wonder)의 영향을 받으며 성장하였고, 90년 4명의 자매와 함께 브랙스턴스(the Braxtons)라는 그룹으로 활동을 시작한 그녀는 1991년부터 본격적인 솔로로 활동하여 머라이어 캐리, 휘트니 휴스턴, 린 디온이 있던 1990년대 중반 디바 중의 한 사람이 되었다. 1990년대 고음 일색의 디바들 사이에서 짙은 슬픔이 묻어나는 매혹적인 저음으로 전성기를 구가하며 2002년까지 크리스마스앨범 포함 4장의 앨범만으로 3000만 장 이상의 판매고를 올렸으며 또한 6개의 그래미상을 수상하는 등 평가 면에서나 상업적인 측면에서나 모두 대성공을 거두었다. 토니 브랙스톤이 1993년 발표한 동명의 데뷔 앨범 <Toni Braxton>에서 네 번째로 싱글 커트 된 곡. 베이비페이스와 엘에이 레이드가 작곡, 프로듀싱한 이 노래는 빌보드 싱글 차트 7위까지 올랐다. 그녀의 최고 히트곡 You're Makin' Me High와 Un-Break My Heart이 빌보드 싱글 차트 1위에 올랐다.
